Benchmark of IT costs

The cost benchmark is designed to let the participants compare the costs for the resources that are invested in the IT operations, the costs for the processes that the IT operations are composed of as well as the functions that the IT operations deliver.

This three step approach gives several advantages to the participants:

• Makes a better understanding of the costs of the IT operations
• Enables a better identification of problem areas
• Separates internal and external issues.

The study also incorporates an analysis of IT costs and IT cost allocations from 2005 to 2010. Telecommunications costs are measured and presented as an integral part of the total IT costs.
